> 15 May 2007: The controversial system (MTAS) used to match junior doctors to specialist training posts has been shelved by ministers. > 09 February 2007: High Court in London has given its verdict against overseas doctors in the UK. It has provided no relief to thousands of doctors whose careers are being destroyed by the new Immigration Regulations which came into force on 3rd April 2006. British Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (BAPIO) on behalf of all overseas doctors associations is planning to appeal against this decision. For further information or to donate for this noble cause please click here.
> APPS UK is working in co-operation with other medical associations to protest against the new immigration rules affecting many of our members directly. We believe the Department of Health (DoH) is implementing them as a knee-jerk reaction without any consultation or warning. This is discriminatory and against the British tradition. To read more about the new rules please click here.
> We are collecting medicines and medical equipment i.e. surgical instruments, unused suture material, dressings, gloves, catheters, BP apparatus, stethoscopes, ECG machines, defibrillators etc.

We do not accept medicines with an expiry date of less than 12 months. Please also note that all equipment should be in working order. May you get best reward for your efforts!
